Facebook is diving deeper into eCommerce, and soon there’s one more thing you’ll be able to buy: Movie Tickets. Starting soon, Facebook users will see a new tab on the pages called Movies. The Movies page will give users options to purchase movie tickets through AMC, Fandango, or Atom Tickets.

“From the very beginning of online ticketing availability, it’s been our goal to make the process as simple and accessible as possible for all of our guests, and we are thrilled to further this endeavor through our partnership with Facebook, which continues to expand our guests’ choices on where they purchase tickets,” said Stephen Colanero, Chief Marketing Officer, AMC Theatres.

AMC has been on a quest to destroy rival MoviePass, which offers unlimited movies for a flat monthly fee. In June, AMC unveiled A-list, a direct MoviePass competitor which allows users to see up to three movies per week in AMC theaters. Also, AMC offers IMAX and 3-D options, which MoviePass does not.

“We know people already use Facebook to find movies to see in theaters and purchase tickets to them,” added Swapna Joshi, Facebook’s product manager for movie ticketing. “Today, we’re excited to add AMC as a partner. This is another way we’re working to make going to the movies fun and easy.”

The concept is obvious – people browsing Facebook may be looking for something to do, and allowing them to buy movie tickets without having to open another page or app is an easy decision.
